The consortium

PERSEUS brings together for the very first time a striking synergy of European Aeronautics and Air Transport stakeholders. The latter are organized in different European Associations and Organizations representing the European Academia (PEGASUS, EASN), aviation Industry, (CARE), Research Establishments (EREA) and Accreditation Institutions (ENAEE):

PEGASUS is a University network which has established a set of criteria for their members, based on two fundamental keywords: quality and international cooperation. This ensures that all PEGASUS University graduates meet a minimum threshold of quality criteria. Not being a staffed legal entity able to carry out the designated activities, PEGASUS will be represented in the project by several of its participating Universities being members of its BoD, i.e. PoliMI, PoliTO, UniNA, US, TU Delft, ENSMA and CVUT.

EASN is an International Association forming a network of individual Academics which covers most of the European Aeronautics Universities. It has established communication routes thus facilitating exchange of information between Universities, initiation of joint research, reduction of overlaps in research activities and dissemination of new knowledge and innovation. The EASN Association will be represented in PERSEUS by EASN-TIS, which is exclusively authorized to act on its behalf in the frame of research projects.

EREA is the Association of European Research Establishments in Aeronautics which gathers Europe’s most outstanding research centers active in the field of AAT, primarily aiming to intensify the cooperation in the field of civil, military and space-related aeronautics research and to facilitate an integrated management of joint activities, thereby contributing to Europe’s role as a global player in aeronautics. EREA is represented in the project by two of its members, namely INCAS and VKI.

CARE (Clean Aerospace Regions) arose out of the work of nine aviation clusters and a consulting company within the EACP (European Aerospace Cluster Partnership). CARE is funded by the European Commission. Its efforts are aligned with the EU initiatives “Vision 2020” and “Flightpath 2050”. Together, the partners are working on a Joint Action Plan with the goal of promoting regional research in environmentally efficient aviation technologies. CARE is also a pioneering group of EACP, the European Aerospace Cluster Partnership, a network of European aerospace clusters. It represents the interests of clusters concerning the political and industrial framework conditions. The EACP currently has 41 members from 14 European countries. Members of EACP represent the of Large companies (OEMs), SMEs, research institutes, training and education institutions. CARE is represented in the project by one of its members, namely Aerospace Valley.

ENAEE (European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education) is the European network which authorizes accreditation and quality assurance agencies to award the EUR-ACE® label to accredited engineering degree programmes. Members of ENAEE are agencies and professional organisations with an interest in the education and formation of engineering professionals. ENAEE is represented in the project by one of its members, namely the German agency ASIIN.

Evidently, the PERSEUS consortium has been prudently set-up having in mind the specific and challenging requirements of the project and ensuring that the involved partners, supported by a plethora of relevant experts and AAT stakeholders, have the capacity, competences and means to reach the designated objectives. Moreover, the members of the consortium have been selected so as to provide the project a Europe-wide reach, as well as to cover, in the largest possible extent, the entire Aeronautics and Air Transport community, including, principally and necessarily, all the EU countries with aerospace related higher education institutions.
